Charles Quandel
Founding Partner Charlie Quandel serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Quandel Consultants. He has extensive experience in the planning and engineering of high speed ground transportation systems throughout the United States in coordination with state Departments of Transportation and Class 1 Railroads. Charlie is a member of various technical committees of the Transportation Research Board, the American Public Transportation Association, and the Commuter Rail Coalition. He is the former Chairperson of the High Speed Ground Transportation Association. His experience includes the identification of feasible routes for systems capable of operating at speeds up to 300 mph. Over the past 25 years, he has managed the planning and engineering design of numerous passenger rail projects. He managed the Midwest Regional Rail Initiative for a nine state coalition and directed the preparation of Service Development Plans for the states in the Midwest leading to the receipt of more than $2.5 Billion in ARRA and HSIPR federal grants. He is a registered professional engineer in 13 states. Charlie is a 1969 graduate of the United States Naval Academy and holds a Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University.
