
Adrian Diaz de Rivera
Adrian Diaz de Rivera is a Project Engineer at Quandel Consultants specializing in rail operations analysis and planning. Adrian has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, which included a year studying in Hong Kong. Experiencing East Asia’s highly efficient public transit and intercity rail systems sparked a strong desire to work on world-class passenger rail projects. Adrian received his master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Railroad Engineering from the University of Illinois. While there, he conducted cutting-edge rail operations research into moving block train control systems using Rail Traffic Controller (RTC) simulation software and other methods. He has presented his work to subject matter experts at multiple conferences and published three papers in peer-reviewed journals as lead author. Adrian joined Quandel in 2020, where he has contributed to a variety of intercity passenger rail and freight projects using his skills in RTC, GIS, technical writing, research, and project management. He is a registered Engineer-in-Training.
