W. Robert Moore

Bob Moore is a Member and Chief Engineer for Quandel Consultants, LLC. Bob is licensed as a professional engineer in Illinois and Michigan. He has more than 30 years of experience in the planning and engineering of freight railroads, high speed intercity passenger systems, commuter rail, and light rail and heavy rail mass transit systems. He has served as project manager or project engineer on a variety of rail transportation projects, including Michigan DOT’s High Speed Passenger Rail and Ann Arbor-Detroit Commuter Rail programs, Dearborn’s new John D. Dingell Transit Center passenger rail station, Minnesota DOT’s Hiawatha Light Rail Transit System, Chicago’s planned Central Area Circulator, and Seoul Subway’s Lines 3 and 4. He has written multiple industry technical publications including “The Influence of Policy and Operating Decisions on Systems Elements of the Chicago Circular”, “Corridor Design Issues for the Florida High Speed Rail”, “Lidar Data Acquisition and Mapping for Chicago CREATE Program” and “Design Challenges of the Dearborn-Ypsilanti Double Track Project.” He is an active member of AREMA’s Committee 17: High Speed Rail Systems. He represents APTA on the FRA’s Rail Safety Advisory Committee. Hi is a 1974 graduate of Princeton University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and received his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh in 1984.
