“Grauberger is joining Quandel Consultants, to support the national rail and transit firm’s Denver, Colo., office in client and new business development and to provide guidance on project planning, feasibility studies and grant funding, with Colorado’s Front Range as an area of focus.
Grauberger served from 2019-21 as Colorado’s Southwest Chief and Front Range Passenger Rail Commission Project Director. (That Commission will be replaced by the new district mentioned above.) He led the Commission in its initial phases of the development of Front Range Passenger Rail service, overseeing public outreach, alternatives analysis and pre-NEPA planning. Grauberger also authored the application that helped secure a 2020 CRISI grant for the Commission.
Additionally, Grauberger served for 14 years as Senior Transportation Planning Manager at WSP, working on the feasibility of commuter rail initiatives in multiple corridors, including public-private partnerships, cost estimates and financial planning, as well as community interviews and presentations. Prior to that post, he was employed by the Colorado Department of Transportation for more than 28 years, holding a number of planning positions, including Branch Manager in the Division of Transportation Development.
“Randy Grauberger has decades of experience collaborating with departments of transportation and planning organizations in Colorado and neighboring states,” Quandel Consultants CEO Charles Quandel said. “His incredible relationships will be an enormous asset as we seek work in Colorado and other Western states.”
