The Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District’s existing service provides an essential transportation link connecting Northwestern Indiana to Chicago, IL. Quandel provided planning, engineering, and operations expertise for the West Lake Corridor which is a proposed 9 mile extension of NICTD’s current service along the Indiana – Illinois state line to Dyer, IN. The additional passenger rail service between Chicago and Northwest Indiana increases accessibility and mobility in rush hour periods and economic development in Lake County, IN.
